THE HEIST SCENE 13 : THE PUZZLE

     Samantha was lost in thought as she sat in the waiting room of the hospital, mother and daughter, were in the intensive care unit ,the drugs used to gag them had a negative reaction with their systems, the doctors were fighting to save them,

 She cried quietly and decided to call Dennis again, the phone didn't go through again, she was emotionally down, the Police had assured her that they would find Mr Bedford, but they had no clue or lead. just then the nurse came around to ask for family members,, and she stood up, she stated that the husband Mr Bedford was missing, and she was the closest they had at the moment, she was ushered into the ICU and she sat by the bed side of Mrs Bedford, she was pale and look frail, she must have had a terrible fright. she held her hands for a few minutes, and then went to check on the daughter , she looked in a better state than her mum, she watched as the the daughter slept soundly,she was in an induced coma to help her system recovery faster ,Samantha prayed silently that they both recovered soon.....

Just then a cop from the precinct just walked into the hospital room and beckoned on her to come over, she recognized her immediately, she was in her brothers Anti robbery unit, she stood up and went over to her, she seemed to be nervous and uneasy , she sensed something was awry, she asked, officer Tonia, whats wrong, where is my brother, where is Dan, she looked away trying very hard to avoid direct eye contact, Samantha saw this and immediately became apprehensive, she held her arms and asked, where is Dan,she was becoming hysterical and officer Tonia tried to calm her down, she said we got a call from his patrol team around 5am this morning that they were checking out some suspicious  movement within the Capitol City Bank premises ,and they had alighted to investigate, few minutes later we got a emergency call from officer Derrick, he stated they had been ambushed and the that officers were down and they needed both urgent back up and medical attention and that  was their last radio message from the team to dispatch , we've since sent in back up to the location  but it would take sometime before they get there to make any difference, they didn't know if they could hold out till then,as they seemed to be in a very bad spot , she just felt she should know and prepare her mind for the worst ,Samantha thanked Tonia as she left,

    she crashed into the closest chair and began to sob, today was turning  out to be a real horrible day, first her Boss was kidnapped his wife and daughter hospitalized, now her office where we worked being robbed and her brother seem to have been killed in action, this was worst than her worst nightmare, she picked up her phone again dialed Dennis number , she needed emotional support right now,the phone didn't connect, she was really puzzled and wondered why his number hadn't gone through all morning, and that strange call at about 5am that same morning , she began to put two and two together, Dennis has been incommunicado since morning same day her boss was kidnapped and her office robbed , and she remembered how inquisitive Dennis had been about her job, now she was getting the big picture, she didn't believe what her mind was telling her could it be that Dennis her lover had used her to get information about the bank to carry out a robbery. and could her brother have been cut down by her lover. 

      she immediately swung into action, she was not going to be used like that, and let Dennis get away with it, at the cost of her boss and her brother, she picked up her phone and called 911, she waited for the line to be picked,the line came alive and she asked to speak to the captain. she was put on hold for some minutes,

 the few minutes seemed like a long time, as she waited for the  other line to connect to the captain, she saw an incoming call from her brothers line, her heart skipped a beat, as she was ecstatic, she immediately ended the 911 call and picked her brothers call. she waited in anticipation to hear her brothers voice, all the tension and fear were flowing out through her eyes, she tensed in the few seconds it took for the voice to get to her .....hello the voice said, her heart sank, that wasn't her brothers voice, fear gripped her instantly as she braced herself for the bad news,.

The voice on the other end sounded sober, that added to her already tense mood,is that Samantha ? she answered immediately,yes speaking , she was trying very hard to decipher who was speaking from the other end. Its bad Samantha, its real bad, its a gory scene over here at your office , i don't recommend you coming over anytime soon its a horrible sight, we don't know where Dan is yet, but he whole team are in a critical state, we are still sorting out the different body parts, his mobile was found by one of the detectives on the scene, i will give you a call when we hear anything new .
